Terms and Conditions

  • Please note we have a two hour minimum on all jobs.

  • By law, all moving companies provide 60 cents per pound per article coverage on lost or damaged items. This coverage is included at no additional charge

  • If your building requires a certificate of insurance, please provide the requirements (Sample COI) at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled move.

  • We do not handle, load, or unload any article weighing 200 pounds or more.

  • The carrier will not except for shipment articles that cannot be taken from the premises without damage to the article or the premises.

  • Except as otherwise provided, rates named in this tariff include one pick-up and loading at the point of origin and one delivery and unloading at the point of destination.

  • If you can reserve a parking spot please try, this will help expedite your move.

  • Perishable articles or articles of extraordinary value will not be accepted for shipment. Should such articles come into the possession of the carrier without his or her knowledge, responsibility for safe delivery will not be assumed.

  • We have a 1-hour arrival window. The crew will send a message or call once they arrive to pick up the location.

  • We will not be held responsible for damage to items made from particle board or compressed wood. (Ikea furniture)

  • Due to DOT regulations customers cannot ride in the vehicle with the movers. Customers must arrange their own transportation

  • To ensure efficient services you must be fully packed before we arrive. Please have boxes packed, empty dresser drawers, and disassemble any large furniture.

  • Long-distance moves are billed at a flat rate. The flat rate is based on the list of items you provide and other details such as the total flight of stairs and distance between locations. If any details change after the initial quote, the flat rate price is subject to change.

Payment Information

  • We require a $50 deposit to reserve a time slot. The deposit will be deducted from the final bill.

  • We accept cash and Zelle. Our Zelle address is 347-572-3350 or Karen@blueboxmove.com. Master card, Visa, American Express, and Discover, please be aware that we charge a 3.5% credit card processing fee for payments via debit/credit card. For payments via debit/credit card, you will receive a secure payment link via Square.

  • If a deposit has not been made, the van and crew will not dispatch. A refund of the deposit is only allowed if canceled with at least 24-hour notice. Cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled moving time are not subject to a refund.

Bin Rentals Policy:


  1. Duration of Bin Rentals: The standard rental period for bins is 3-5 days. Any additional days beyond the initial rental period will be subject to an additional charge at the original cost of rental bins, which is $5 USD per day or bundle cost.

  2. Non-Returned Rental Bins: It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure the timely return of rented bins. Failure to return the bins within the designated rental period will result in a fee of $15 USD per bin. This fee covers the cost of replacement and administrative charges associated with the non-returned bin(s).

  3. Card on File Requirement: In order to rent bins, it is mandatory for customers to have a valid payment card on file with Blue Box Moving. This can be done conveniently through our client portal or by directly contacting our customer service representatives. Having a card on file ensures a secure and efficient payment process for bin rentals.

Please note that by renting bins from Blue Box Moving, you agree to abide by the aforementioned policies and terms. Appointment Window:

  1. Time Window Policy: Blue Box Moving understands the importance of punctuality and strives to provide reliable and efficient moving services. However, due to unforeseen circumstances such as traffic conditions and other logistical factors, we kindly request customers to allow for an hour window between the designated appointment time and the arrival of our moving team.

  2. Example: For instance, if you set an appointment for 9:00 AM, please expect our team to arrive anytime between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM. This additional hour accounts for any potential travel delays and ensures that our team can reach your location promptly.

  3. Communication and Updates: Our drivers will maintain open lines of communication with you, providing updates if there are any significant changes to the estimated arrival time. In case of any unforeseen delays outside the designated time window, we will make every effort to keep you informed promptly.


Certificate of Insurance

In order for us to prepare your COI form we will need some information from you and your building management. Most building management can provide a sample COI with all required information such as the certificate holder with address and additional insured. We require 24-hour notice to generate COI, they are issued directly from our insurance company. There is no additional charge for a certificate of insurance. Declaration of value

Shippers (clients) are required to state specifically in writing, the agreed-on, or declared, the value of the property moved. When a shipment moves under hourly rates and is released to a value not exceeding 60 cents per pound per article, the base transportation rate will apply with no additional charge. However, when the shipper declares a lump sum value for the entire shipment (which cannot be less than $2,500), an additional valuation charge of 50 cents for each $100, or fraction thereof, of the released or declared value will be assessed.
